Former Detroit Lions Defensive Coordinator Aaron Glenn Comes Home To Coach The New York Jets

The New York Jets have gotten their guy as they have hired Aaron Glenn as head coach after a disappointing year this season. This a fresh start for them with the uncertainty of Aaron Rodgers’s future at quarterback. Glenn played with the New York Jets in his career getting drafted in 1994, round 1, pick 12. Glenn had a great career finishing with 3 pro bowls and making a big impact on whatever teams he was on. After his playing career, he transitioned into coaching where his first opportunity was with the Cleveland Browns in 2014 as an assistant defensive backs coach.

Aaron Glenn then coached the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions before finally landing his first head coaching gig with the team that drafted him. Glenn had a fantastic tenure with Detroit helping their defense become a force in the NFC North and making them dangerous along with this offense they had. New York Jets were looking for a tough-minded coach, who brings swag, is a player’s coach, and loves to win and compete at the highest level. Glenn checks all the boxes as a right fit for this team which is trying to find a spark quickly.

Congrats to Aaron Glenn, his family, friends, the New York Jets, and their players as a new era has begun for them. This is extra special for Glenn coming back home to where he started as a player and now coaching will be fun to watch for sure.
